Frequently asked questions

How do ROAS and ROI differ?

ROAS is ad revenue divided by ad spend. ROI in this calculator is profit after ad spend divided by ad spend. Even a high ROAS can produce a negative ROI once product costs and fees are included.

Which margin should I enter?

Use your margin before advertising costs. For example, revenue of 1,000 minus product costs, selling fees, and delivery costs of 700 leaves a 30% margin. The calculator subtracts ad spend separately.

How is break-even ROAS calculated?

Break-even ROAS (%) is 100 ÷ margin (%) × 100. With a 25% margin, a ROAS of 400% leaves zero profit after ad spend. A 0% margin has no finite break-even point.

What happens with zero ad spend or no revenue?

With zero ad spend, ROAS and ROI are shown as not defined. With zero revenue and positive ad spend, ROAS is 0% and ROI is −100%. Inputs are saved only in this browser and are not sent to a server.
